STEPS TOWARDS CREATIVITY

“Bicycle” – a new mechanical transport component was first introduced in a country. At the exhibition of the new creation, a man approached the inventor of the bicycle and on observing its crude, simple architecture mocked, “Even an inexperienced mechanical professional can manufacture it. Silly! I can design this simple vehicle. What greatness is there in exposing such simple thing?” The inventor without losing temperance said softly, “Sir, you are right. My invention is simple one, but, you don’t forget that the initiative, motive, imagination and hard-work which kindled its creation aren’t simple!”

Creativity dictates the world. Creativity is habit of making out-of-box thinking, that is, thinking beyond what our mind compels. Discipline, enthusiasm, patience, etc. are needed to conceive creativity. Great business and scientific accomplishment are achieved through proper utilisation of creativity tool.

Creativity can be enhanced by continuous thinking habits over our objective. Say, we have a problem for which we need some creative solution. Following steps might be followed to achieve creativity:

Step 1: Identify the possible solutions for the problem by individual or team reasoning.

Step 2: Fill our thoughts will the possible solutions and navigate for new solutions.

Step 3: Repeat the process for an hour or a day.

Step 4: Unexpectedly, we experience a sudden injection of creative solution thought into our mind. This might happen at any time, even during eating, playing, reading, chatting etc. provided we are conscious over it. One of the magnificent features is that the thought produced will be accompanied by strong faith.

Step 5: The faith guided creativity will aid our initiative and propel towards its implementation.
Dhirubhai Ambani, one of the greatest business man of India, who is a lateral thinker, says, “Think big and think fast. Ideas are no one’s monopoly.”
