INTRINSIC PROSPERITY

Two villages Goldapur and Petropur were connected by a bridge pierced by seasonal river flowing between them. A saint was meditating in the middle of the bridge enjoying serene ambience. A man from another village for his livelihood was migrating to one of the two villages. He was in dilemma to select the best option spread before him, so, he went to the meditating saint to defuse his confusion. The man approached the saint and queried, “Respected Guru, which is the most prosperous village of the two, present on either side of this bridge?” The experienced saint opened his eyes and said, “I don’t know about this, but two people who will accost me today, may provide answer to your question!”

As the saint predicted, a man from Goldapur came near the saint and asked, “My Lord, through my friends and relatives acquaintances, I came to know that Petropur is the most prosperous village, so I am shifting myself to that opulent village, provide your blessing!”

Similarly, another man from Petropur came and said he is going to migrate to Goldapur lying opposite to his native village for better living. Now, the man who had lead towards the saint for identifying prosperous village got astonished and asked, “My Lord, my confusion has stepped up. Kindly edify me!”

The saint replied, “Our neighbour house may appear more spacious than ours, although both may be of equal dimension. Our ignorant vision misleads us. Every needed resource are abundant and equally spread across every village, identify and harness the nature’s riches, you will be prosperous!” The new man realised dormant opportunity and retrieved to his native village.

So, we are rich with all needed resource. Our deprived vision observes other’s resources as superior and makes our competence inferior. Similarly, our country has needed resource accumulated below us, to attain super-power status. We have the job of identifying it and directing it in proper direction. Poor so called deprived attitude is only a state of mind, similar is the case of affluence.

INCARNATION OF GOD

An orphan artist, who was an atheist made living through creative artworks. For last one week, he was afflicted with fever and it became severe without proper care. He thought his diseased body would get destroyed this night. To ascertain about his friend’s absence for past one week, a neighbourly friend entered atheist’s house as a saving soul. When the neighbour found his friend required immediate action to save his life, he smartly acted to transfer his friend to a hospital.

The atheist’s life was saved through neighbour’s shrewd selfless action. After complete recovery, atheist returned from hospital. He took his drawing-board outside and started his painting job. His neighbour, who was enjoying his Sunday newspaper reading, approached him to query about health. The neighbour spoke to the atheist with friendly smile, “What are you drawing, my friend?” The atheist replied, “I am depicting my God!” The neighbour got surprised to look at sudden change in atheist belief after physical deterioration.

On understanding the completion of artwork by atheist, the neighbour came to observe picture of God drew by the novice believer. The neighbour astounded to see his picture being engraved as a God.

In our life, we face like atheist in above story with many Gods, for instance, by showing her love, mother becomes God. By providing his guidance, father becomes God. By helping us during compelling situation, a friend becomes God. Our brothers, sisters become God by sharing what they considered as priceless resource. By rendering treatment to an ailing person, a doctor and a nurse become God. So, we observe many such people getting manifested as God before us.

This is spiritual secret behind every living. God has made human as social living because he knows he could not incarnate to save every soul. Observe God in every human, we might discover an enchanting life.

LIFE EDUCATION

Who are known as educated? Educated are those who deal with them rationally and with others emotionally. If books are the only medium to educate, I fear we are wrong. In ancient Indian culture, character and knowledge on living was fed through sacred works, which implies that other material knowledge might be easily gained, if aforesaid character is inculcated.

To succeed in life, education is one of the criterions but not an important criterion solely necessary for success. A number of most successful business owners aren’t PhDs, graduates etc, but their character and attitude makes PhDs, graduates etc, work below them. A nature which identifies failures are delayed success, never quitting when defeated, and earns riches to express usefully for others are some of the qualities of educated, even if unschooled.

Education is one of the criteria to improve our living. Men who have tendency to discern right from wrong in life, having an right objective to exist, promoting other lives through their power, though may be uneducated, can be considered life-educated.

In college and school, we obtain materialistic knowledge to "make a living," but they don’t give priority to life-knowledge needed "to live". If we identify education alone might creates superiority, we are false. But, if we believe education with character creates superiority, we are true.

Character might exist without education but education couldn’t exist without character.

PROCRASTINATE PROCRASTINATION

An intelligent, rich father called upon his lazy son and said, “My son, I will provide you two years of period, within which, if you are capable of earning Rs. 500 in one day through your sheer hard work, I will teach you a way to lead a free life rest of your life!”

Suddenly labouring himself became tedious for this sluggish man, with two years of period standing before him, he gave vent to habit of procrastination. He consoled himself saying, “Tomorrow we might perform!”

Ultimately, tomorrow and tomorrow habit added up to end two years. During the final day, the son went to his father to seek for extension of wager period. But, the father didn’t rise up from his bed; he lay dead. When the father was moving towards heaven, he thought himself, “How lazy my son is! If he had earned Rs. 500, I could have passed on my riches to him stored as a treasure!”

If the son hasn’t performed procrastination, he might have gained a treasure which might have made him rich to lead a free life. But, if this lazy man had acquired his father’s riches without hard work, he would have become lazier than he was before, wasting the power of money.

Later, the treasure which the intelligent father had hoarded was found by a hardworking, poor farmer. He utilised productively for generation of employment for his villagers but initiating an industry in his village.

Procrastination as a habit bedaubs our vision to the opportunity available before us. The best time and place to perform any task is present time and present place. Procrastination drinks more energy than performing the tasks. If nature had procrastinated, just observe what might happen to the perfect natural equilibrium, which helps lives to exist on this earth.

Procrastinate the habit of procrastination.

ATTITUDE CONQUERS ALTITUDES

Two men reached abode of God for their judgement after their death. The angel who manipulates goodness or wickedness of men was finding difficult to distinguish these two men, because they were equal in their good deeds and sins. God had already warned the angel that actions of men alone don’t add up their good deed or sins.

In order to defuse her dilemma, the angel went to God to find a solution. God directed the two men to face a test, in order ascertain their original nature. According to the test procedure, the two men will be left in heaven or hell without disclosing the original name of the place. After staying for a day, they have to identify the nature of the place.

The two men returned to God’s feet after the test. The first man replied, “My Lord, the place I was tested was heaven!” The second man replied, “My Lord, the place I was examined was hell!”

The god smiled and said to the angel, “That’s the difference! First man’s positive attitude made him look even a hell into a heaven. But, second man’s negative nature made him look a paradise into a hell. It is the attitude with which action is performed differentiates men.”

Life may be enjoyable experience or tragedy depending on clarity of our vision. A naturalist or poet enjoys eternal joy from expressing magnificence of nature, while a poacher enjoys illegal earning from destruction of nature. Based on their attitude, a poet stays in men’s heart while poacher stays behind jail. Attitude is the fuel behind men’s actions.

Attitude destroys self-formed limitations. Attitude is the reason that differentiates certain country or an organization or men to achieve continuous success compared to its failing competitors. Every organisation believes: “An untalented right attitude person could be made more productive than to reap outputs talented negative attitude person.”

“Failure is a stepping stone to success,” such a belief is formed by positive attitude. Externally, attitude rules the world, internally, attitude rules the mind.

IDENTIFYING REAL HAPPINESS

A man with his friend’s acquaintance went to a place which was identified by them as the happiest place in the world. They ascended through tough terrains of mountains and at last, they reached high peaks of snow clad mountains. With peace, serene and calm ambience, they could find a seer meditating with perfect composure.

After offering their oblations, the man and his friend waited till the seer exits from his deep meditation. After an hour, the saint opened his eyes and with gloom in his face, he queried,
“What’s your reason for your arrival to this place?”

The man replied with enthusiasm, “We came here to find inextinguishable happiness and joy in our life, My Lord!” The saint smiled and asked, “Did you live with father, mother, teachers, children, friends, relatives, and neighbours?”

Both man and his friend nodded their heads as an expression of their presence. Then the saint replied, “I think you have lost vision to identify prevailing happiness!”

These are some of the discoveries which are easy to experience.
“There is no perfect sleep as one which we experience in our mother’s lap, no perfect guidance as those of our father’s direction, no perfect knowledge as those ignited by our teachers, no perfect companions as those of friends, no perfect saviours like those of our neighbours, and success as those obtained by sharing with our relatives.”

Happiness has been established endlessly below our feet, it is our responsibility to identify them and harness it towards right directions. Money or riches won’t establish joy which our mind needs. "A grass on the other bank may appear greener than those on our side, but in reality ours may be greener." It is tendency of our mind to identify something beyond us as superior and move towards it, rather than identifying original opportunity available within us. So, happiness is intrinsic and we have it abundantly in terms of our relationships or society.

OUR MENTOR'S IDEA

A saying from Mr. Washington Irving, “Great minds have purposes, other have wishes” following these lines our former Indian President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has envisaged a concept of PURA (Providing Urban Amenities to Rural Areas) which may expedite the development of education, employment, healthcare and infrastructure of rural areas and to stop recurrent migration to cities for better living.

The concept visualizes an annular ring shaped town integrating minimum of 10 to 15 villages of about 60 km sq. area stretch. It requires only one transportation route helping high efficiency mass transportation. It concentrates on four connectivity namely,

Physical connectivity – an integrated infrastructure of health centres, school, warehouses etc.,

Electronic connectivity – WiMax – wireless interoperability Microwave Access and combination of fibre optic medium and wireless medium known as routers and switches for communication,

Knowledge connectivity – satellite application on literacy movement, telemedicine, healthcare and resource management, and

Economic connectivity - agro-industry, micro-power plants, renewable energies.

What we discussed so far will create a fantastic multi-purpose infrastructure for the villages in India. Further by having co-operation with other nations, we can foresee an ambience which makes our nation a definite technological superpower. These ideas will surely fortify our nation and will be a great example and inspiration to us.

IDENTIFICATION OF INNATE COMPETENCE

A calf to quench its thirst moved towards a river. As it was enjoying sweet water, suddenly the river got flooded and the tender calf got drowned in the gush of water. The calf was struggling to save itself. This incidence was watched by the God and an Angel from heaven. The angel on observing the pity driven situation of the calf, requested the God to save the helpless soul. But, the God replied with smile, “Angel, don’t worry about the calf!”

To save itself, the calf started to paddle recurrently in the water, this helped the calf to identify that it was competent in swimming. So, through its new identified skill, it started to swim against strong currents and was trying to reach nearby bank. But, unfortunately, a crocodile was waiting to satiate its hunger with open mouthed.

Now, on observing critical need of guidance to the helpless calf, the god moved from his abode to save the life of new born. After returning from earth, the God was queried by the angel, “Why my Lord, you didn’t went to save the calf, when I first prompted?” The God replied, “If I had moved to save the calf at first time, it wouldn’t have identified its innate competence!”

Nature sometimes teaches and sometimes guides. Teaching is done only to identify our original nature. So, failure is a coaching towards self-enlightenment. Realisation of this would create new realisation over life.

UNIVERSAL LAW TO EXPERIENCE SUCCESS

Universal laws are same even before earth got formed and will be same even after earth gets destroyed. We know our physics basic law called Law of Conservation of Energy, which states that, “Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed, but it can be transformed from one form to another form.” Basis on this concept, we have stored potential energy and driving kinetic energy.

Similarly, extending law of conservation of energy as a law to success, we can define, “Thoughts are the potential energy and actions are the kinetic energy. Thought energy gets transformed to action force.”

Kinetic energy depends solely on potential energy. More potential energy more will be kinetic energy. Similarly, an action solely depends on our thoughts. More powerful an action to be, more intense should be our thoughts for particular actions.

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, our People’s President says, “Dream, Dream, Dream! Dream transforms into thoughts, and thoughts results in actions.”

A thought obtains its energy from intrinsic brain energy or from cosmic energy influencing us day and night. World famed achievements are not one day actions, their actions are due to their restless thought behaviour. People who understand this leads, others lag.

FAITH – THE LIFE FORCE

A farmer with hard work and determination as an investment, worked towards attainment of higher farm output. With experience he had acquired in his life-time and knowledge from the government research scholars; he yielded higher profit in farming.

After he achieved success, he found some forces got attracted towards him, which had repelled before. He examined what they are. Then the first force expressed, “I am your friend, Riches!” Another force replied, “I am your friend, Joy!” Another force said, “I am your beloved, Status!” Another said, “I am Fame!” “I am luck!” The farmer felt he had acquired everything in his life.
Next year, he worked hard like previous year, to maintain his achievement. But, due to incessant rainfall, his farmland got flooded and his crops failed. Because of failure, the forces which influenced earlier left. But, one force was there influencing him. He asked his new friend’s name. The new guide expressed, “I am your friend, Faith!”

Faith which had aligned with farmer during failure helped him to achieve success.

Faith helps us to sustain in this world. If faith’s presence was not available in human mind, our civilisation would have got diminished during its inception itself.

It is marvellous phenomenon in life to observe every human confident to be living tomorrow, when his fellow men face unfortunate deaths today.

The superior form of faith is “Trust in God.” This faith could act as a vitalizing force for existence since humans have less control over external influences.

Faith is a trait, which every human is capable of developing. Human mind is capable of performing unforeseen feats, if we think of it recurrently. For instance, if we think we are capable of performing public speaking without stage fear and think about it continuously day and night, we definitely achieve positive result than what we had believed. In above case, we had faith in our competence, which had destroyed our self-imposed incapability.

HONESTY – A PRICELESS POLICY

Mr. Kumar had planned for a leisure excursion to a nearby hill station. But, he had very meagre savings in his account. He couldn’t enjoy as he had expected.

One day, Mr. Kumar and his friend were walking through a park. As he entered the park, he could find a money purse lying uncared. Mr. Kumar overjoyed with an unexpected luck and eagerly computed it, whether he had sufficient money equivalent to his need. Unfortunately, the money was less compared to what he had expected and said disgustedly, “This money doesn’t add any value to me!” His intelligent friend smiled and replied, “But, honestly returning the purse to the owner will add a value to you!”

A person asked his master, “Lord, what distinguishes a person over others?” The master replied, “Pure water always has its own value over polluted water, similarly pure character differentiates human over others.”

Only shortcut to attain intrinsic peace is honest living. Expression of dishonesty will mean lack of self-control. Material riches in tangible form will become inexpensive in presence of intangible humanistic character. Honesty has its own values. Person who express honesty enjoy an inner selfless pride unattainable through other means. Material knowledge once considered superior becomes inferior in place of honesty biased with character. Rich are those who feel rich in mind. Riches in mind are acquired through attitude and character.

FAILURE – A TEACHING GUIDE

In order to draw larger quantum of water for irrigation, the grandfather along with his grandchild started to dig into their shallow well.
After he devoted sufficient hard work, he couldn’t reach water bed but faced with rocky bed. Disgusted and vexed by failure, the grandfather said, “Everything went waste. My energy got wasted and dissipated in useless manner!”

The child spoke with childish chirrup, “Papa! When I farm, I won’t dig out for water from this place.” A spark of wisdom stroke in grandfather’s mind: “My failure has taught a lesson to my future generations.”

So, he organized his life acquaintances into a resourceful book by which his future generations learnt ways to succeed with little failures.

Failure will clear our way towards success. For everything we have missed, we have gained something else. If we learn from our failures, we are an intelligent. If we learn from others failures, we are a genius. People who understand success never underestimate failures. When we succeed stimulate heart, when we fail put our head in action. Biggest doers once faced with biggest failures. “Failure” who had repeatedly experienced will understand it as “delayed success.” We discover ourselves from success, we change ourselves through failures.

POWER OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

A child expressed fear to his mother due to daily solitary travelling to his school through wild forest. The mother in order to dispel his fear and to improve his God’s faith said, “Don’t worry my child, your brother Krishna comes along with you!” The child got empowered in mental strength, when he came to know about the presence of guiding brother.

Next day, when he was traversing along the wild forest, a monster with scaring face stood before him. But, the child smiled and spoke with childish tremor, “You are my affectionate brother, guiding me since I fear to travel through this lonely forest!” The sudden expression of love from an ignorant child made the monster to dissolve his natural cruel instinct. He befriended the child and started to act as a guiding brother from wild animals infested in the forest. Love has the power to melt even a hard natured monster into a tender hearted brother.

Where fear established, love extinguished. Many famed accomplishments were accomplished as an expression of love. World renowned artists were acclaimed by people due to their insatiable expression of love. Relationships exist not due to riches, but due to existence of love. Love in achievement of our objectives; make tedious jobs into a leisurely hobby.

Love gives and forgives self gets and forgets. Money loses value in presence of love. Money attracts others, love conquers others.

SELF PROPELLING DRIVE

Two snakes entered into a house, one snake was an old while another was a young snake. The owner of the house screamed out for help from adjoining families to save his sleeping child. The young snake trembling with fear said, “Uncle, we should escape soon through backdoor, before humans identify us and kill.” The old snake replied with smile, “No problem, we are safe.” The owner couldn’t find any courageous neighbours daring to face the poisonous snake. Disgusted in search for help, he dared his life to save his child and entered house by lifting a wooden rod. Now, old snake spoke with haste, “Come soon, we soon shift from this house.”

The young snake queried, “Why uncle you discouraged escape when I first prompted owners arrival, while you hasted escape later?”

The old snake spoke, “Initially his motive behind saving his child depended on others. I know he won’t find any saving hand, so I feared no danger from him. But, in the second instance he took initiative to save his child, so I feared danger from him.”

Every accomplishments in life depends how we relate with ourselves and with others. It is obvious fact that a person’s development solely depends how he thinks and not how others think. A rocket propels higher by its intrinsic fuel resource not on extrinsic drive. So, our advancement in any objective depends on our initiative towards our objective.

UNRESTRAINED EGO – DISEASE IN RELATIONSHIPS

The most dangerous disease afflicted in our society is ‘self-centred ego’. This is the cause of unconquerable misery prevailing in our society. Ego is an exaggerated feeling to think superior compared to others. Ego is the innate natural instinct of human. It is through ego, nature has provided every man to show advancement in life. But unrestrained expression of ego in every human relationship is the problem; we face in our homeland earth.

Relationships in human life are dominated by our ego. People tend to associate with people who appear similar in personality or lower in character compared to them in order to express their ego. Perform a small exercise, “Increase the length of a line, without affecting its dimension” This is achievable only by drawing a shorter line nearer. Similar concept exists in human thinking. By making ubiquitous God superior and enriching equality in human life, spiritual teachers devised a way to dispel ego.

Once we conquer position, position tends to kindle our self-ego. But, we should prevent even simple expression of it. Leader in life are leaders of their ego.

A watchman of a company was apprised by his friend that the company in which he works pays lower income compared to others. As a result of misunderstanding, the watchman wasn’t able to perform his prescribed duties satisfactory. Observing his ill-performance his superior warned, “Even after number of leaves, your performance didn’t improve! If it continues, you will be chucked off!”

Later, a man came down from his car after expressing a friendly smile and spoke as follows, “Friend, What eats you, you aren’t as before? Could I express my helping hand to you?” Then the watchman explained his difficulty to new benevolent friend.

“Simple! Your problem will be solved soon” spoke the kind hearted man. Later, the watchman was called by his superior and was informed that his salary has been increased by 50 percent. The watchman enquired about the stranger who met him in the morning by pointing towards the car, he got down. To his surprise, he was informed that he was the chief of the company.

If such friendly relationships haven’t formed by leaders, they couldn’t be leaders. Ego uncontrolled makes us zero.

COMPLEX RULES FROM SIMPLE ACTIONS

Success in any accomplishment is a habit. This could be explained by an observation about a child training himself in skipping game. Initially as a neophyte, he couldn’t play even a single skip rotation successfully.

Even with repetitive failures, he was persistent to make at least single rotation. His small experience aided him to learn new tactics by which he learnt to modulate his rope and his body movements. At last, he was able to make single rotation successfully.

But, he faced with another problem, that is, he couldn’t play continuously to make several skip rotations. But, he was determined in his objective.

At this point, an experienced child in skipping came to play with him and asked for a chance to skip. The experienced skipper was able to perform skipping action with less effort. The novice skipper observed the talented child’s skipping with mouth open.

With guidance of talented skipper, the novice skipper got direction towards efficient skipping. The talented skipper taught the new learner his acquired experiences in skipping exercise. With new enlightenment, he practised persistently.

Next day, he called me and displayed his new acquired skipping skill with a big smile in his face. He enjoyed his skipping by making 10 to 20 skips continuously.

Similarly, success will surge to an individual who is persistent in his actions towards his dream. Even with series of failure, the experience earned during each determined action would teach a new way through which we can perform once believed “insurmountable task” with simple effort. What we believe as super achievers are just learned performers. From the guidance of our predecessors, we can acquire rich experience knowledge. This resource can also be acquired from reading books by experienced personalities, towards our ultimate objective of our life. The enlightenment we acquired will seed a habit into our mind and develop into our inherent nature. With all these qualities, self-discipline and attitude will definitely shift one towards success path.

PRESENT RICHES OF LIFE

An intelligent old father was in his dead bed and he called upon his son, a richest businessman. “When you get perplexed with your mind and body, you read this piece of paper, and it may have a solution to your problem”, the old father said this and died.

After some years later, the affluent businessman was apprised by his renowned friend about the presence of a magical wand which was capable of acquiring all the riches needed to conquer the world. He started to think about the advantages in possessing a magical treasure, he hasn’t seen. The desire to acquire the magical wand became obsessional in his mind and he began to dream about the ecstasy in possessing an asset through which he could rule the world. So, he left his family and he started to travel across the world with all the riches he had earned in search of magical wand. But, even after several years of nomadic life, he couldn’t find any information. He lost all the riches he had possessed and returned to his native land as a pauper after several years of fruitless travel. His health condition had deprived severely and in his seclusion he got reminded about the piece of paper provided by his father.

“Everything lies below you” was inscribed in the paper. Then, he got reminded about their hereditary property which was stored safely below his house. But, he lost his life even without observing the wand or informing about this to his son.

His excessive desire on future closed the thought of present availability lying below him. Similarly, we move our thoughts towards future expectations without proper utilisation of present. Past are lost riches, future are possible riches, but present is the available riches. Rich are those who attain peace by proper utilisation of present. Poor are those who ponder over past and future with imaginary living.

FOCUSSED MOTION WITH DETERMINATION

We know the way to succeed but we lack required courage and determination to traverse through the path. How can we quench our thirst without moving ourselves towards water source? Similarly, for attainment of success requires proper utilisation of our common sense and our intrinsic physical energy from our side. If an objective is simple, any normal human can accomplish his aim. But, for superior achievements we require superior qualities.

A man implored to God as follows, “Lord, my neighbours and relatives are opulent with material riches and knowledge. I want to acquire money and knowledge higher compared to them with less physical pain and in less time.”

God manifested before him and directed him to move to a place where he could attain required riches and knowledge. The man thought for a moment and again implored, “Lord, I request you to provide me the fare needed for travel expenses.” The way is known but he is indolent to reach his objective, looking at the man’s ignorance, the God smiled and disappeared.

A seed may be seeded in right environment by the action of wind. But, it requires an impulsive drive from seed to rise above the pressure of earth’s gravity to sprout into a seedling and later into a massive tree. With positive attitude coupled with determination, our objective will be simple enjoyable amusement.

GUIDING SUCCESS TOOLS

Certain tools we utilise in our day to day life, could act as a guide towards success path. They could be our philosophers towards our character fortification. A different vision towards various gadgets we use will edify us intellectually.

AUTOMOBILES:
Automobiles move by consuming propelling fuels like petrol or diesel. The mechanical vehicle in addition to driving its own mass endures loads we make it to carry.
Rule we learn: Our life’s propelling fuels are our desires for financial gain, position, expression etc. Once we get promoted in life through its attainment, the resources should promote us and our fellow beings in qualitative and material factors.

CURRENCY NOTES:
Money or riches attains value, only when it gets magnified in number and intension with which it is expressed.
Rule to understand: Our limited knowledge has a value only when it gets magnified through education of various books. It becomes an asset by transforming acquired information into digested knowledge and expressing it in productive direction. For example, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam is regarded as a notable Indian scientist, people’s president because of motive behind his expression of his knowledge compared to his educated peer group. Kalam’s motive was to develop India’s military technology in unison with other nations.

WATER FLOW TAPS:
A water tap withstand strong water pressure pressing towards it due to pressure head of the water tank. It discharges liquid only when it is needed, until then it bears the force.
Wisdom it teaches: Senses and thoughts are highly inquisitive. Like tap, we have a job of controlling stimulus and instincts senses drive us. Expressing during right instance and depressing during improper instances will ease our way towards success.

QUOTE PROMOTES MENTAL NOTE

Below are set of kindling quotes I had at the back cover of my school class notes. Injection of a quote into our memory and analysing their meaning could create a difference in our attitude. It guides us towards a panorama which can’t be viewed through our limited vision. Crisp in words but qualitative in meaning is the characteristic of a quotes.

VITALIZING APPRECIATIONS

Let us observe what an appreciation could influence two students studying in same class with varying attitudinal parents. One child was a proactive, studious child with negative attitudinal parent. While another child was sluggish, careless and showed less interest towards studies but with positive attitudinal parent. First child always ranked within top level while second ranked in mediocre position.

Parents of first child would often criticise for not ranking first in the class while second child’s parents would appreciate and vitalize even when he showed small increment in his capability. Since, first child couldn’t obtain expected appreciation from his parent; he lost his interest in his studies. First child craving for appreciation got decremented in his ranks. Second child got motivated in his studies and showed phenomenal rise in his ranks.

Microbes get magnified through microscope. Similarly, our good qualities are magnified through appreciation. Self-appreciation requires no external influences, so practising it promotes us towards higher character enrichment.

People criticise and deprive appreciation when we show improvement in our accomplishment, since their ego gets influenced. As a saying goes, “the way of the world is to praise the dead and execute the living.”

Devasia puthiyaparambil in his books describes, “Appreciation transforms people. In this appreciation process, it makes two people happy – the one who express and the one who receives!” Appreciate positive qualities of others to get appreciated.

DORMANT POWER

Power of wind directed in right direction has helped us to yield electrical energy through wind mill. Similarly, propelling powerful thinking process towards positive output will help us to understand real power dormant within us. Thought power is more powerful than physical muscular power and it can be developed through concentration. Dissipation of thought power in useless ends is the reason for our failures.

Power of mind is analogous to the flow of electric current. High energy electric current generated can’t be controlled as stored energy, similarly mind power can’t be controlled and prevented from expression but it can be utilised usefully by directing towards proper utilities. Positive expression of intellect has stimulated ignorant towards riches while negative expression has made born prosperous into paupers. Just look into the life of great personalities in world, even though they would have born in poverty, continuous positive expression of their mind has made them rise above others both in riches and intelligence.

Just like exercises train our limb muscles; concentrating inwards will exercise our mental muscles. Continuous thinking process towards proper end will stimulate imagination and aid creativity. People, who believe in mind power, believe our destinies are controlled by our thinking. More we direct our mind, more we get directed.
