HELPING IN DISGUISE

There were ten street dogs living near our college hostel. Their sustenance was the residues from our hostel mess. Out of ten dogs, one dog had some problem with its leg bone. As days passed, its leg started to bend and it was finding difficult to walk. Other dogs mocked and said, “You are nearing to death!” Worried about its future, it went to an old dog and exclaimed, “Why God is so cruel to me, although I had lived a virtuous life?” The old dog replied, “Whatever difficulties you experience now will have effect in future. God’s intentions are incomprehensible”.

The dog was finding difficult to find food of its daily need while others lived a better life. Taking pity on its physical appearance, a hostel mess worker helped the dog by providing food. The dog started to live along with mess worker while other dogs lived by themselves.

One day, I couldn’t find any dog in our hostel ambience. From my friends, I was informed that college authorities have sought help from municipal to confiscate the street dogs and kill it, because they felt it was disturbing. I feared about the state of the dog with physical deformities. But next day, I could observe the dog playing with the hostel mess worker. The dog was saved by the hostel mess worker from slaying by municipal workers.

There is a truth in above story: We may think, “Why god doesn’t help humans in poverty ridden life? Does God is partial in dealing with humans!”

No, we fail to observe the real expression of the God’s helping hand. Humans who identify his “helping in disguise” will sustain the onslaught of time. A lovable mother never intends her son to have difficult life. When we closely observe our life, we can observe the God’s guidance in every accomplishment.
