RESERVATION TO HEAVEN

Swami Vivekananda advocated a special form of worship which he prescribed as “Service to man is the visible manifestation of the Godhead.” God decides position in heaven not how much a person devoted to him but how much he is devoted to his fellow members. God acts as our saviour by his incarnation as our fellow-men. Worldly existence estimates us through external expressions while super-natural existence determines us through internal expressions.

A perplexed angel went to Godhead and asked, “What are the deeds a man should perform to attain God’s abode?” The God directed the angel to observe two men on earth. First man was a rich, God fearing, and a self-centred personality. But, second man was a poor, an Atheist, and a benevolent personality.

Usually, rich man devoted most of his time, money towards adoration to God. But, he never utilised his money in charity. His devotion towards God was basically a selfish motive. However, poor, atheist person visits temples forsake of his family, but never used his meagre income on oblations. However, whenever possible he devoted part of his income toward well-being of his fellow-men. The two men died in their old age. First man attained hell while the second attained heaven.
