SELF-CONDITIONED LIMITATIONS OF MEN

Due to conditioned behaviour for many years, we behave in a certain way. When we face with failures recurrently, we start to believe it is our nature and fail to rise from imaginary trench.

Certain behaviour of elephants can be compared with the human attitude. Elephants are biggest and strongest pachyderms which have no natural enemies, except humans. Some elephants are seized by humans for domestication, which are used in temples, circus, and heavy wood transportation. The training for such domesticated elephants involves making the elephant to believe they are weak and inferior in strength compared to humans. An elephant though may be gigantic in size and stronger than humans, but it believes that the mahout (the elephant trainer) controlling him with small stick is far stronger than him. This belief of elephant is exploited by humans in conditioning and controlling elephants.

A free roaming baby elephants are made to stay under restricted place by their legs wound with chains which are fixed to a strong peg, to condition motion until particular age. Later, the tuskers believe even without being chained just with small wound of metals around its legs, makes it believe that it is chained.

This character can be compared with men who believe they can’t rise above the rest in talents. Once we consider ourselves inferior over others, we yield to them even when we are stronger. Imaginary formulation of our own limitation is the cause of every poverty in talents, opportunities, relations, positions, etc. Our first job towards our success will be destroying mental barriers created by “ourselves”. When we achieve this, even so called born genetic conquerors will be our sub-ordinates.

is mightier still." - Lao-Tzu

The comparison is without doubt true.
Lets take the instant when elephants become overstressed and mad and start killing its mahout.
In the same way, when human beings are frustrated with their failures and inferiority complexes, they tend to indulge in wrong activities.
